The role involves working within Community Diagnostic Centres across London, providing essential ultrasound services to patients.
As the UK’s largest specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions, InHealth Group collaborates closely with the NHS to deliver high-quality tests, scans, assessments, and procedures. In the past year alone, they have supported more than 5 million people in their healthcare journeys, with the majority being NHS patients and service users.
About InHealth Group
InHealth Group operates with core values of Trust, Passion, Care, and Fresh Thinking, which influence all their interactions with patients, customers, and colleagues. Their mission is to provide high-quality services within local communities to over 7 million patients by 2030, while maintaining their impressive 97% patient satisfaction rate.
The company is committed to making healthcare better for patients through collaborative working with the NHS. Their people-focused approach ensures that teams are integral to delivering exceptional healthcare services across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently providing general abdominal, pelvic, and small parts ultrasound scanning services. This includes maintaining high standards of technical expertise and adhering to best practices in ultrasound techniques and relevant codes of practice.
You will independently produce clinical reports to InHealth standards for each completed scan, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication of results to support patient care pathways. The role also involves providing a high-quality professional experience for patients, supporting them throughout the process from referral to results.
Administrative duties will form an important part of this role, including ensuring patient information systems are up to date and accurately maintained. You will also participate in matters concerning clinical governance, clinical audits, and quality assurance to continuously improve service delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent qualification is required. Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), General Medical Council (GMC), or relevant professional body.
Essential Experience: Demonstrable ability to scan and report proficiently in all relevant areas of ultrasound practice. You must have eligibility to reside and work in the UK, with proven experience working in the UK as a General, MSK or Vascular Sonographer.
Desirable Qualifications: Additional postgraduate qualifications or specialized training in specific ultrasound modalities would be advantageous but are not essential for this position.
Working Conditions
The Sonographer will work from InHealth’s Community Diagnostic Centres in London, operating across 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday. This flexible schedule allows for both full-time and part-time working patterns to accommodate different needs and preferences.
You will work alongside a dedicated Healthcare Assistant, supporting a pre-booked set of patient appointments. This collaborative approach ensures efficient workflow and optimal patient experience throughout the diagnostic process.
Remuneration Package
The advertised salary for this Sonographer role will depend on your experience level, as well as your scanning and reporting competencies evaluated during the interview process. InHealth Group offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the importance of this role within their healthcare services.
As an employee, you will receive additional benefits that form part of the overall remuneration package, though specific details should be discussed directly with the employer during the recruitment process.
