The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children’s Disability Team. This rewarding opportunity involves working with disabled children and their families, assessing their need for social care services, and supporting Child in Need and Child Protection plans. You will also work with children subject to Care Proceedings, Children We Care For, and Leaving Care adults.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Worker in the Children’s Disability Team, you will ensure that services are planned and delivered in a way that maximizes participation and reflects children’s rights. You will be responsible for ensuring all County Safeguarding and Child Protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised appropriately.
Specific Duties Include:
- Assess need and provide focused work aimed at helping parents and children make positive changes in their lives
- Record and evaluate your work effectively while liaising with other agencies and voluntary organizations
- Be the allocated worker for disabled children in need or subject to child protection plans
- Provide ongoing timely assessment, planning, implementation, and review for allocated cases
- Work in partnership with young people, their families, and partner agencies
- Prepare written reports for review, case conferences, courts, and departmental panels
- Analyze and manage risk effectively for allocated children
- Promote and support children’s developing needs under supervision
