The position is based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, located at Top Road, Calow, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S44 5BL. Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year (Per annum/ Pro rata)

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to have completed broad-based general medical training along with specific training in Rheumatology and to have gained a CCT in Rheumatology or Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine or be within six months of obtaining this. The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high-quality care. Flexible working options will be considered, subject to the exigencies of the service.

Key Duties

Applicants will be expected to provide clinical care for patients with rheumatic conditions, participate in the development of the service, and engage in quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to develop a sub-specialty interest within the role and contribute to the teaching and training of junior medical staff.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on GMC specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview.

Desirable Qualifications

Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of specialty.

Experience Requirements

Essential Experience

Quality/audit project experience
Experience of participation in CPD (Continuing Professional Development)

Desirable Experience

Experience in a similar post.

Skills Required

Essential Skills

Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Clinical supervision experience/skills

Ability to undertake training/mentoring of clinical staff and enthusiasm for education
