Compensation Package
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $36.00 CAD for this Restaurant Assistant Manager position. This is above industry standard and reflects the value we place on qualified leadership. The position is permanent and full-time, with a commitment to 35-40 hours per week. Overtime is required and compensated according to Alberta employment standards.
Work Schedule
As our Restaurant Assistant Manager, you will be expected to work a flexible schedule that includes morning, day, evening, and weekend shifts. The exact schedule will be determined based on business needs and will be coordinated with the Restaurant Manager. This position requires availability during all operating hours to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the daily success of our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include evaluating daily operations to identify areas for improvement, monitoring revenues to effectively manage labor costs, and closely observing staff performance to maintain high service standards.
Operational Management
You will be responsible for planning and organizing daily operations to ensure efficient workflow. This involves setting staff work schedules, determining which services to offer, and implementing operational procedures that enhance both customer satisfaction and profitability.
Staff Development
As a key leadership position, you will train new staff members on proper procedures, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to help team members grow. You will also have the opportunity to lead and instruct individuals during daily operations.
Financial Oversight
You will monitor financial aspects of the restaurant, including costing products and services to maintain appropriate pricing structures. This role requires attention to detail to ensure profitability while providing value to customers.
Inventory Management
Organizing and maintaining inventory is a critical responsibility. You will ensure that all ingredients and supplies are properly stocked, ordered in a timely manner, and stored according to health and safety standards to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Customer Relations
Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner is essential. You will serve as a point of contact for customer feedback, ensuring that issues are resolved satisfactorily and that customer experiences remain positive.
Health and Safety
Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations is non-negotiable. You will ensure that all food safety protocols are followed, proper sanitation practices are maintained, and the restaurant environment meets all regulatory requirements.
Business Development
You will participate in marketing plans and implementation to attract new customers and increase sales. This includes negotiating with clients for catering services or use of facilities, contributing to promotional activities, and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Event Management
Managing special events or catering orders is another important aspect of this role. You will coordinate logistics, ensure proper staffing, and oversee execution to deliver exceptional service that reflects well on our brand.
