Job Summary

The Research Finance Costings & Grants Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting research activities across Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), overseeing the pre-award, costings, and financial management of a complex and diverse research grant portfolio. With over 600 active projects and annual research income of £28m, this post is central to ensuring effective costing, financial oversight, and income recovery for both commercial and non-commercial research.

Location Details

Salary Information

The salary for this position is £64,156 to £71,148 per annum inclusive, which is competitive for the London area and reflects the seniority and complexity of the role. This salary is paid under the Agenda for Change pay scheme at Band 8a.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week. The standard working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, though some flexibility may be required to meet business needs and deadlines.

Contract Type

Language Requirements

Education Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Training in Grant Costing & Project management (Including SoeCATs)
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • 5+ years research finance or NHS finance experience

Desirable Qualifications

    >Experience of Change Management and Process Improvements
    >Qualified CCAB Accountant or undertaking CCAB training with relevant experience at a senior level
