The successful candidate will play a crucial part in Nuffield’s long-term vision for clinical rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes utilizing the unique Nuffield Health pathway, championing the Charitable Purpose. Your role will involve remote (digital) and in-person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating guidance, and goal setting to aid participants’ recovery.
Daily Activities
You will organize and run a series of rolling 12-week rehabilitation programmes. This includes facilitating and delivering both live stream and in-person group exercise classes with people who have varying degrees of abilities and physical function. Your work will help participants self-manage their condition after the 12-week programme through pre-recorded on-demand classes and journaling.
Participant Support
A key aspect of your role will be engaging in 1-to-1 telephone conversations each week with every participant. These conversations will involve coaching participants on setting short-term and long-term goals, understanding their restrictions, monitoring progress, providing emotional wellbeing support, and empowering self-directed activity.
Monitoring and Reporting
You will need to identify any deterioration in participants and follow internal escalation processes when necessary. Ensuring reporting is processed within specific timeframes and that outcome data is accurately captured is essential in supporting our Charitable Purpose and tracking participants’ progress.
Exercise Adaptation
The successful candidate will have the capability to recalibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements demonstrated by changes in both effort and performance. You’ll be able to deliver or facilitate various exercise modalities from circuit training to strength training while working with people of varying physical activities.
Required Skills
We are looking for someone with problem-solving and diagnostic skills, strong organizational ability, effective decision-making skills, and excellent time and resource management capabilities. Personal Attributes
To succeed in this role, you will need leadership and influencing skills, be a good communicator, remain calm under pressure, and have a motivational and engaging personality. You should be a self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, and commitment.
Organizational Skills
Strong organization skills with the ability to manage time and workload effectively are crucial for this position. You will be required to work flexibly and have good organizational skills to balance multiple program groups (cohorts) at once and process new referrals efficiently.
Team Collaboration
You will demonstrate personal values that drive performance with clarity, transparency, and fairness to team colleagues. Collaborative working within our site as well as Central Operations and the Charity Team is essential, along with having an energizing impact on those around you.
Essential Qualifications
This role requires a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer certification, which is essential for the position. You will need excellent IT skills to effectively manage the digital components of the rehabilitation programmes and maintain accurate records of participant progress.
