Following the recent changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners, we are looking to expand our PCN team by seeking to employ a newly qualified General Practitioner to work alongside our practices and PCN staff.

Position Details
This is a part-time, fixed-term position for a newly qualified General Practitioner. The role is based within Bordesley East PCN and involves working across multiple sites in Birmingham. The position offers an attractive salary of £10,000 per session, with a contract duration of 12 months. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently and with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending a primary care setting. You will be required to make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organization.
Clinical Duties
Your clinical responsibilities will include assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and managing long-term conditions and patients with complex problems. You will also be responsible for recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, collecting data for audit purposes, and complying with QOF requirements.
Administrative Tasks
In accordance with the practice timetable, you will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion. You will also be responsible for checking, managing and processing patient test results.
Referral and Prescribing
You will refer patients to secondary care and/or relevant organizations and internally within the PCN as required. Prescribing will be in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary or generically whenever this is clinically appropriate. The post would involve working at three sites: Downsfield Medical Practice (1 session), Swan Medical Centre (2 sessions), and Garretts Green Lane Surgery (1 session).
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified GP who has qualified within the last 2 years. You must hold MRCGP or equivalent medical degree, have a Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP/PMETB, and possess a General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). Full registration with the GMC is also essential.
Essential Experience
You must demonstrate an understanding of General Practice Services and have a clear understanding of Primary Care Networks and how they work. These are fundamental requirements for this position as you will be working within a PCN structure.
Desirable Qualifications
While not essential, evidence of a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development would be advantageous. We also look for candidates who understand the role of medical services in a wider public health agenda and have knowledge of the demographic characteristics that affect health and healthcare in the area, including health inequalities.

UK Registration Requirements
