Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Home Building Contractor to oversee residential construction and renovation projects from conception to completion. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on diverse projects in the Edmonton area.
Location Details
This position is based at our main office located at 206 Pembina Road, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 0L8. The work is performed on-site at various construction and renovation locations throughout the Edmonton metropolitan area. This location offers excellent accessibility and proximity to major transportation routes.
Compensation and Schedule
We offer a competitive annual salary of $70,000 for this full-time position. The standard work week consists of 35-40 hours, with occasional overtime requirements as needed to meet project deadlines. Our compensation package reflects the importance of this role and the expertise required to successfully manage construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
As Home Building Contractor, you will be responsible for directing and controlling daily operations at construction sites. This includes evaluating daily operations, planning and organizing workflow, and preparing detailed work schedules to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Project Management Duties
You will select and employ trade subcontractors while coordinating their activities to ensure seamless project execution. A key responsibility will involve inspecting subcontractors’ work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications, maintaining our high standards of craftsmanship.
Business Development
The role includes developing and implementing marketing and advertising strategies to grow our client base and business opportunities. You will also prepare estimates and bids for home construction, renovation, and restoration projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
Financial Management
Planning and managing project budgets is a critical aspect of this position. You will develop detailed cost estimates, monitor expenses, and ensure projects remain within budget while maintaining quality standards and timelines.
Client Relations
You will work directly with customers, architects, and engineers regarding plans and specifications. Effective communication with all stakeholders is essential to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
Resource Management
The position involves recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff and/or volunteers as needed for projects. You will prepare and maintain a comprehensive directory of supplies and trade contractors to ensure timely access to necessary resources.
Regulatory Compliance
You will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary construction permits are obtained before work commences. Additionally, you will develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
Team Leadership
This role requires leadership skills to effectively manage a team of 3-4 people on various projects. You will be responsible for motivating team members, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that all work is performed according to established standards and timelines.
Hands-on Construction Work
In addition to management duties, you will be expected to perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities as needed. This hands-on approach demonstrates expertise and ensures quality control throughout all project phases.
Requirements and Qualifications
