Green Brick Labs is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Officer to join our growing team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation at $27.50 per hour for 40 hours of work per week. The position is based on-site at our Waterloo location (N2L 0C6) and is available to start as soon as possible.
Position Overview
As a Financial Officer at Green Brick Labs, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. This position requires someone with strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities as Financial Officer will include calculating fixed assets and depreciation, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions. You will establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
You will be responsible for maintaining general ledgers and financial statements, preparing them regularly to provide accurate financial information to management. This includes posting journal entries, preparing other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed, and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Additionally, you will assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, participate in audits as required, and contribute to process improvements within the finance department. Your work will directly impact the financial decision-making processes at Green Brick Labs.
