Position Summary
As an Automotive Body Painter at Jays Auto Collision, you will be responsible for performing high-quality automotive painting and body repair services. You will work on a variety of vehicles, applying primers, paints, and clear coats to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and expertise in automotive painting techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation
- Clean and maintain the work area to ensure a safe and organized environment
- File, grind, and sand body surfaces to prepare them for painting and repair
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting to ensure clean, precise lines
- Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
Body Repair Tasks
Dent and Defect Repair
- Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers with precision
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
- Repair or replace interior components as needed
Painting Operations
Paint Application
- Apply primers and repaint surfaces to match factory specifications
- Operate paint spraying equipment to ensure even, professional finishes
- Mix paint colors to achieve accurate color matching for various vehicle makes and models
- Apply clear coats and other finishing materials to protect painted surfaces
Component Replacement
Major Repairs
