Job Location
The position is located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, specifically in the area with postal code B2V 1W7. All work will be performed on-site at various locations throughout the Dartmouth region. Salary and Compensation
We offer a competitive bi-weekly salary of $25 for 80 hours of work, plus an additional $250.00 commission per piece completed. Minimum wage is guaranteed for all employees. This compensation structure rewards hard work and productivity, providing our roofers with the opportunity to increase their earnings based on performance.
Employment Type
This is a permanent, full-time position with the possibility of overtime available. Education Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following required certifications:
- First Aid Certificate – Valid first aid training is essential for safety on job sites
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate – Required for handling and working with various materials safely
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course – Mandatory certification for working at heights safely
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have hands-on experience with the following roofing systems:
- Conventional and inverted built-up roofing systems
- Single ply sheet membrane roofing systems
We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate practical experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of roofing materials and waterproofing systems.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of roofing and waterproofing tasks, including:
Installation Services
Installing and replacing asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Installing single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
Repair Services
Repairing or replacing damaged shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Repairing or replacing damaged single-ply roofing systems. General repair maintenance on various roofing systems to extend their lifespan and maintain structural integrity.
Waterproofing Services
Applying waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces both below and above ground level. This includes foundation waterproofing, deck waterproofing, and other applications to protect structures from water damage.
Team Collaboration
This position typically involves working with 1 to 2 people, requiring strong teamwork and communication skills. Candidates must be able to coordinate effectively with other team members to ensure efficient and safe completion of all projects.
