Job Overview

East Lancashire Hospice is seeking a Clinical Administration Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role is integral to providing high-quality support to all clinical teams within the Hospice, including Support and Wellbeing, Community Team, and the Inpatient Unit. The department is currently upgrading EMIS processes and reporting systems to ensure consistent documentation across all departments.

We deliver this care through various services at the hospice and in people’s homes across Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley. Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Administration Assistant will be responsible for timely and accurate inputting of clinical information onto our EMIS systems. You will service the daily referral screening meeting to support the timely receipt, management, and recording of referrals and discharges. The role includes administrative support for outpatient clinics and activities, liaising with both internal and external providers including heads of departments, consultants, and specialist practitioners.

Administrative Duties

You will prepare patient-related correspondence to the highest standard within agreed timeframes and ensure accurate, timely preparation, filing, and archiving of patient-related records. The position requires producing established clinical activity and data reports for internal and external use of the Head of Administration.

Technical Requirements

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, email, and internet is essential. You will order, distribute, and monitor stock levels of stationery for clinical teams. The role also involves contributing to the coordination of meetings and education events, including booking into diaries, informing attendees, booking rooms, and arranging necessary equipment.

Terms and Conditions

This is a permanent, part-time position with a salary of £24,570 per year, based on a minimum of 16 hours per week. The hospice offers a supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development. The position is based at Park Lee Road, Blackburn, BB2 3NY.
