Primary Responsibilities
As a carpenter with BIRLA CONSTRUCTION INC., you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other construction materials. Your work will include building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring and erecting walls and roof systems to ensure structural integrity and quality craftsmanship.
Duties and Tasks
Your responsibilities will extend to fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware in residential and commercial construction projects. You will read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine materials required and dimensions of structures. You’ll also use woodworking machines, hand tools and power tools to cut and shape wood, plastic and other materials.
Quality Standards
Maintaining high-quality standards is essential in this role. You’ll need to fit and install materials with precision, ensuring all work meets building codes and safety regulations. You’ll also inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and repaired or replaced damaged or defective wooden fixtures and furniture.
