Job Overview
We are seeking experienced long-haul truck drivers to join our team in Edmonton. Key Responsibilities
As a long-haul truck driver with Broadwayz Trucking Inc, your responsibilities will include operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
You will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. This includes overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment. Additionally, you will perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and preventive maintenance as needed to keep the fleet operational.
Cargo Handling and Documentation
Your duties will include loading and unloading goods, tarping to ensure the safety and security of cargo, and transporting and handling dangerous goods when required. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, including bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
Administrative Tasks
You will need to record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption. Additionally, you will receive and relay information to central dispatch, arrange travel and related itineraries, make reservations, and obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. You may also be required to pay and receive payments for goods.
Required Experience
Candidates must have experience in long-haul trucking with a strong understanding of all required documentation procedures. This includes familiarity with bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, trip reports, and long-haul operations.
